Defenceman Jakub Nakladal will join his Flames teammate, Michael Frolik, on Team Czech Republic at the World Cup of Hockey beginning September in Toronto.

Nakladal was one of the final seven players named to the team on Friday, while Frolik was one of the initial 16 players named back in March.

The 28-year-old Nakladal played 27 games for Calgary last season, scoring 5 points (2-3-5). He also played 35 games for Calgary’s AHL affiliate in Stockton, scoring 14 points (2-12-14).

Also naming their rosters today were Finland, Russia, and Sweden, with the rest of the countries to announce their teams later in the day. Flames centre Mikael Backlund was left off Sweden’s roster, while defenceman Jyrki Jokipakka was named to Team Finland.
