If you’ve ever travelled out of YYC Calgary International Airport, then you know there isn’t a ton of places to pop down and enjoy some grub, but that’s all changing.

The Flames Grill is now officially open, and it’s one of 50 new food and retail additions coming to the airport over the next two years.

In case you didn’t already guess, this new spot is sports-themed, named after Calgary’s much-loved hockey team, the Flames.

There are large TVs scattered around the space, perfect for watching big hockey games and other live sporting events in general.

The new “retro-themed” restaurant has arrived just in time for Calgary’s 40th season celebration, and it features the “actual” Flames locker room as well “life-size images of players current and past, allowing fans to enjoy the tremendous history of the franchise.”

If you’re a Calgary Sports and Entertainment season ticket holder you will get a 20% discount when you show your membership card.

This spot aims to give patrons “culinary delights that you would experience during a Flames game at the Scotiabank Saddledome,” at the airport.
