The NHL is looking at playing hockey games in China again next season and the Calgary Flames are reportedly a top candidate to be skating in them.

Though details haven’t been finalized yet, it appears that the Calgary Flames and Boston Bruins will be the two teams playing in preseason games in China this September if everything goes according to plan.

The Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings appeared in the first NHL exhibition games ever held in China to start this season, playing one game in Shanghai and Beijing. The league has extra incentive to grow the game overseas, given that Beijing will host the 2022 Winter Olympics.
