Calgary-based small-batch gelato maker Fiasco Gelato is about to start scooping ice cream again from its HQ & Test Kitchen, after closing its doors for four and a half months due to an electrical fire.
Although the fire was contained to the café section of the Fiasco facility, the smoke and water damages were pretty severe throughout the entire building.
Since the beginning of the year the Fiasco team, plus their contractors have been hard at work trying to get everything back in order, re-building and revamping the space. With the restoration phase nearly completed, the Fiasco team are ready to celebrate.

On Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fiasco will welcome customers back to their brick and mortar location for their Grand Re-Opening.
Those who show up to this re-opening event will not only get first dibs on the gelato marker’s brand new Spring/Summer Collection (featuring Banoffee Pie, Passionfruit Cheesecake, Peaches and Cream, Peanut Butter Bar, Strawberry Balsamic, White Chocolate Pretzel, and Green Tea Lemonade Sorbetto), but also receive a FREE scoop of gelato with every pint purchased.
Fiasco will also have a brand new light bites menu on offer, featuring artisan hot sandwiches, salads, gelato shakes, and espresso-based beverages.
