You can view all current alerts on the Alberta Emergency Alert website.
The alert would have tested the system’s functionality, and Albertans would have been notified that it’s only a test. The alert would warn individuals that they won’t need to take any further steps. However, they may be asked to acknowledge that they received the emergency alert before they can use their mobile device again.
The test would have been distributed on TV, radio, and wireless. It’s also used as an opportunity to check people’s phone compatibility with the alert system.
The alert will still go on as scheduled for the rest of Canada.
