Driver clocked going over 200 km/h on Alberta highway

A Grande Prairie driver is due in court after RCMP said a vehicle was clocked at 202 km/h on Highway 43.

According to Clairmont RCMP, an officer was running laser between Grande Prairie and Wembley at around 10:40 p.m. on July 6 when the vehicle was stopped in a 110 km/h zone.

The speed was 92 km/h over the posted limit.

Police said the 46-year-old Grande Prairie resident was issued a mandatory court summons for speeding and careless driving.

RCMP reminds drivers to slow down and follow the rules of the road.
