CPS investigating sexual assault after woman woke up to man in her bedroom

A Calgary woman woke up to find a man she did not know in her bedroom on Friday night, according to a release from the Calgary Police Service.

The man, described by law enforcement as Caucasian with a moustache and short, dark hair, allegedly sexually assaulted the woman in her Canfield Crescent SW home before fleeing.

The release states that the incident occurred sometime between 11 pm on Friday, January 17 and 1 am on Saturday, January 18.

Police also noted that a “vehicle of interest” was seen in the area, with investigators trying to locate a dark blue sedan, possibly a Chevrolet, with a “very clean exterior.”

Anyone with CCTV footage of the area is asked to check their recordings for any sign of the suspect or the vehicle, and anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service’s non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
