Costco is now recommending customers wear face masks while shopping

Costco is the latest retailer to ask its members to wear masks or face coverings when shopping at warehouses.

The store announced that based on public health experts’ recommendations, they would also be recommending that members and guests wear a covering over their mouths and noses while shopping.

This measure is to ensure to safety of Costco members and employees.

Costco stated that this recommendation does not apply to children under the age of two or to “individuals who are unable to wear a mask or face covering due to a medical condition.”

The retailer also reminded customers that face coverings are not a substitute for physical distancing, and asked that folks observe the rules while on Costco premises.

Costco had recently confirmed seven employee cases of COVID-19 at a store in Vaughan, Ontario.
