As of Jan. 1, 2026, fees for admissions, passes, and rentals at City-operated recreation facilities will vary in increases.

“To better align with market rates, keep pace with inflation, and to continue offering accessible and quality recreation facilities, programs and services to all, rates and fees for recreation admissions and passes will increase incrementally by an average of 3 per cent, and ice and athletic field rentals will increase by an average of 1 per cent and 2.1 per cent respectively, over 2025 rates,” says the City.

According to the City, to help Calgarians manage rising living costs, Council approved key affordability measures, including lowering the overall tax revenue increase by using $50 million in investment income, while keeping reserves strong, and removing the planned 1 per cent tax shift from non- residential to residential properties.

“As a result, the overall tax revenue increase for 2026 was reduced from the proposed 3.6 per cent to 1.6 per cent.”
