Chinook Centre to light 4-storey-tall Christmas tree next week

Halloween is over, which means it’s officially time to get excited about the holly jolly season.

CF Chinook Centre is kicking off the holidays with its third-annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 15.

“In a season centred around togetherness, this tree lighting is the perfect occasion for friends and families to come together with their community, build upon holiday traditions and celebrate the start of the holiday season,” a release from Chinook Centre states.

“To mark the third year of this annual tradition, CF Chinook Centre’s celebration will feature live music from an electric violinist, and an interactive and immersive tree lighting experience that is bound to be memorable and exciting for guests of all ages.”

The official countdown will be led by Dave Kelly, host of Dave Kelly Live, as well as local DJ Joanna ‘Magik’ Majcherkiewicz.

There will also be other holiday-themed (and lit up) sculptures located around the mall that will make for the perfect photo ops.

The event starts at 5:30 pm, but the official tree lighting ceremony will start at 6:30 pm.
