Calgary's Sportsnet 960 is throwing a farewell party that you don't want to miss

Calgary’s former Sportsnet 960 employees are soon getting together for a farewell party that is open to the public.

Just over two weeks ago, those at Sportsnet 960 abruptly learned that the station was being shut down. The station served as Calgary’s only all-sports program and was the home of the Flames, Wranglers, and Hitmen.

The station being closed down has resulted in plenty of talented personalities losing their jobs, while also leaving many other Calgarians who tuned in extremely frustrated.

It wasn’t just 960 that was affected in Calgary, either, as 660 News was also pulled from the airwaves the same day.

After taking some time to decompress, those at Sportsnet 960 and 660 News are throwing a farewell bash on Friday, July 31. It will take place at Cold Garden beginning at 5 p.m. MDT and will continue until closing time. No tickets or RSVP are required to attend the event.

Though none of the employees were able to say parting messages over the airwaves, several have posted statements on X thanking those who tuned in over the years.

This bash will give all Calgarians a chance to meet or reunite with some of their favourite on-air personalities they listened to, whether it be those from Sportsnet 960 or 660 News. It also gives those talented individuals the chance to thank their loyal listeners one final time.
