Dec 19 2017, 10:52 am

It’s not beginning to look like Christmas in Calgary, nor will it in time for the big day. The forecast is for sunshine this week and into the weekend, keeping the city from celebrating a White Christmas.

Environment Canada is reporting Calgary is in for seven days of sunshine and cold temperatures this week, with Wednesday and Thursday getting down to -19 and -20°C.

Things will begin to warm up on Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday seeing a high of 4°C and a low of -1°C.

Elsewhere in the province, Edmonton will likely see some snow of Christmas Day with a 30% chance of flurries, but all of Southern Alberta will stay dry and clear.

According to Environment Canada data, Calgary has a White Christmas about 58% of the time.
