Cheech & Chong

What: The two comedy legends, Richard “Cheech” Marin and Edmonton-born Tommy Chong, have been performing stand-up comedy for decades and are best known for their run of seven films through the 70s and 80s, including Up in Smoke and Still Smokin. They’ve also released numerous albums, including the Grammy-winning “Los Cochinos.” The duo is hitting the road and stopping in 14 cities across the great white north this fall on their O Cannabis Tour.

Fall at Calgary Farmyard

What: There are many events to enjoy this fall at Calgary Farmyard, including an 11 acre corn maze, petting zoo, playground, and more. Plus there are Flashlight Nights in the Maze every Friday and Saturday starting September 20, and a Pumpkin Festival every Saturday and Sunday starting October 5.

What’s up with Bow Habitat Station

What: Explore Alberta’s wildlife and natural spaces on the first Friday of the month. Visit investigation stations in the Discovery Centre, then join the group activity with special guests from Alberta Parks at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, or 2:30 pm and discover how wildlife has adapted to city life. Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society will also be hosting an investigation station about furry and feathered friends found in the city. Note: hands-on activities are designed for learners two-years-old and up.

Field of Screams at Cobb’s Adventure Park

Gatsby House 2019

What: Gatsby House is an annual party based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel The Great Gatsby. Attendees can expect to see some stunning costumes, enjoy some delicious hors d’oeuvres, and drink some prohibition-era cocktails to keep the night heading in the right direction. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Foundation for the Advancement of Entrepreneurship (FAE), funding scholarships for young entrepreneurs in Alberta’s Junior Achievement Program.

Train of Terror 2019

What: Alberta’s Aspen Crossing Railway company is taking fear to a new level this Halloween with its annual Train of Terror. The “scariest train haunt in Canada” is an interactive, two-hour experience, featuring haunted railway cars and disturbing entertainment.
