Calgary weather is going to skyrocket up to 12°C next week

It’s time to leave winter in the rearview once and for all.

Well… hopefully.

Weather in Calgary will see a glimmer of hope next week, as temperatures are expected to reach as high as 12°C. Couple that with sunny skies, and you’ve got yourself an actual spring day – which is a welcome relief from the extended winter we’ve been seeing lately.

Of course, we’d advise some caution before getting too optimistic about what the rest of spring has in store for our Canadian city. Calgary is notorious for its fickle temperature swings and spring-time snows.

At least for a beautiful few days, we’ll feel the warmth on our skin and maybe even see the immense snowbanks thin out a little.

Before we get to that sunny paradise we’ll have to go through a bit more winter, with snow, periods of snow, and, you guessed it, chances of snow being scattered throughout the following few days.

Salvation comes on Monday, along with what appears to be a chinook, as the temperature is expected to swing from -6°C on Sunday night to a bright and sunny 8°C on Monday.

Tuesday is the real star, with a high of 12°C.

Weather or not (pun intended) the days that follow will feature the same sunshine or instead plunge us back into a fluffy white abyss remains to be seen, but we’re hoping for the former, please and thank you.
