Someone must’ve killed a spider, because we’re about to see a rainy start to the weekend in Calgary.
Environment Canada has the city pegged for a 30% chance of showers on Thursday (including the potential for thunder and lightning) and a near surety for showers come Friday.

The Weather Network shows a similar forecast, though they have Friday at a 70% chance of showers that would bring an approximate 5 mm of precipitation down on YYC.
It’s not the heaviest rainfall we’ve ever seen, but given that Calgary spent the last week engulfed in a cloud of smoke from the northern Alberta wildfires, you’d think Mother Nature would give us something of a break.
The sun is expected to show its gorgeous glowing face to start off the next work week, with highs hovering in the low twenties and the occasional mix of sun and clouds.
At this point, we’ll take all the unimpeded sunshine we can get.
