Calgary will soon be going from snow to the potential for suntans, with the forecast creeping up to almost the 20°C mark over the coming days.
The blast of warmer temperatures was in the cards as part of the January forecast for Alberta, and a fresh seven-day outlook is looking downright balmy for our city.
According to the forecast from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), today, Thursday, Jan. 8, is the last time we see an overnight low in the minus territory for the next week.
Friday, we are breaking above zero for a daytime high to 2°C, and the warmer daytime highs keep rolling from there, with a gorgeous weekend on tap, with Saturday, Jan. 10 and Sunday, Jan. 11 reaching 11°C and 10°C, respectively.
Next week is looking dazzling as well, especially on Wednesday, Jan. 14, with a daytime high that is starting to creep up to the 20°C mark, with a mix of sun and cloud. Will the forecast hold true, and maybe even get warmer? Only time will tell.
