It's going to be even colder in Calgary today

Calgary, it looks like you’re in for another freezing afternoon, as temperatures are going to continue to drop today.

According to Environment Canada, it’s currently -25°C in Calgary, and with the wind chill it’s going to feel like -31°C to -34°C.

Today will be partly cloudy, with a 60% chance of flurries later this afternoon, which will thankfully result in the temperature peaking at a brisk -17 °C.

But don’t let this fool you, there will be winds of up to 15 km/h this afternoon which will feel like -26°C.

The flurries will continue into the evening, and Calgary is expected to receive a light dusting between 2 to 4 cm.

If you head out tonight, keep in mind that the temperature is going to drop back down to -26°C and will feel more like -34°C with the wind chill.

And according to Environment Canada, this freezing weather isn’t going away anytime soon. The temperature is expected to sit around the -26°C mark all weekend.

Make sure to dress warmly and in layers that can be removed, with the outer layer being wind resistant. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with the wind chill.
