Winter has come to Calgary with a vengeance.

While the city saw some relatively mild temperatures at the start of December (was it 15°C at some point this month or was that just a dream?), Old Man Winter has finally hit the city hard.

Christmas Day will see the coldest temperatures so far this season, with a low of -28°C on Christmas night.

Calgary weather this week (The Weather Network)

During the day things will get up to a nice warm -19°C, though it will feel like -21°C, according to the Weather Network.

Better keep those fires going, Saint Nick can take the front door if he has to!

The rest of the week looks somewhat the same, though temperatures won’t get quite as low as they’re expected to on Christmas night.

The good news is that there’s a 20% Chance of snow falling on Christmas Day, and while the heavy snowfall from earlier this week all but assured a white Christmas this year, it’s still nice to see a few flakes fall when the most wonderful time of the year rolls around.
