Calgary has seen plenty of rain lately, and the forecast for the August long weekend in the city is shaping up to be a wet one for our days off.
Enjoy the little warm spell while it lasts, because a serious run of showers arrives on Friday evening, lasting straight through the Heritage Day Monday.

Daily Hive chatted with ECCC scientist Christy Climenhaga, who says it’s not just Calgary that is forecast to see a soggy long weekend.
“A widespread low is developing this weekend, and it’s still early to say exactly how much rain we will get, but it’s generally going to bring showery weather to much of Alberta on and off through the weekend,” Climenhaga said.
She added that, at this point in time, it’s still a bit of a waiting game to see exactly how much rain Calgary will get as the upcoming system develops.
“It looks like it’s going to be poor timing for the August long weekend with regard to wet weather.”
If you are hitting the road and hoping to go camping for the long weekend, be sure to pack a tarp and some rain boots!
