Calgary could see the warmest weather of the year so far this week

March is always hit or miss for spring weather in Calgary, but it looks as if we might be getting lucky this year.

This week, Calgarians will likely be seeing the warmest weather of 2021 so far, with a forecast high of 12°C on Friday – that’s practically beach weather in Alberta.

It’s a chilly -2°C in the city right now, but things could warm up to 7°C as the day goes on.

According to The Weather Network, temperatures will continue to rise leading up to the weekend, with a high of 9°C expected on Wednesday and 10°C in the cards for Thursday.

Saturday and Sunday cool off a little bit, but not much. Saturday is predicted to reach 9°C, and Sunday will remain steady at 7°C.

The above-zero temps carry into early next week, and fingers crossed this nice weather sticks around and clears away some of the snow and ice that February brought us.

A mix of sun and clouds is predicted throughout the week, with Saturday bringing approximately 1 cm of snow into the city – although with temperatures like these, it probably won’t stick around long.

You know what they say about March weather though: in like a lamb, out like a lion.

If that’s true, Calgary could get some nasty conditions again in a few weeks, so you might not want to put away that winter jacket just yet.
