We visited Calgary's new tallest slide and it's truly a masterpiece | Daily Hive

A new slide recently opened in Calgary, and it has claimed the title of the city’s tallest, so we had to stop by to see what it has to offer.

The park, which opened on Aug. 8, is easy to spot, thanks to the massive 3.5-storey slide that towers over the surrounding playground, which developers say is the tallest tower and slide complex in Calgary. The main playground features some fish decorations, as well as climbing structures and other play equipment for kids.

Just next to the playground is a seating area that overlooks the playground and the Bow River, making it a perfect spot to sit and enjoy some outdoor activities.

Aside from the big playground, there is also a smaller thematic experiential play area for toddlers and young families. Keeping up with the fish theme, it features spots for climbing, ropes for adventuring, as well as a swing set and lots of room to run around.

The slide is located in Fish Park along Wolf River Drive SE near the Bow River in the southeast community of Wolf Willow. It was developed by WestCreek Developments and features Calgary’s first engineered-wood playground system.

Fish Park is just one of many parks WestCreek Developments has brought to Calgary. In 2025, Legacy and Creekview in south Calgary scored big on their outdoor play scene, with two brand-new parks and a new pump track officially opening to the public.

Now that Fish Park is open, WestCreek Development has contributed a total of 16 playgrounds across the three communities in Calgary, expanding on its commitment to building spaces that encourage movement, social connection, and imaginative play for all ages and abilities.
