The weather for the 2018 Calgary Stampede is looking perfect so far

Jul 4 2018, 12:27 am

It’s going to feel like the true Wild West on the Calgary Stampede’s opening day, as the sun will be blazing down on attendees – cowboy hats or not.

According to Environment Canada, Friday, July 6 (that’s opening day, ya’ll) will see unimpeded sunshine and a high of 33°C.

That may be the hottest the week will get, but the surrounding days are still going to be scorchers. Thursday, July 5 will see a high of 26°C, Saturday will get up to 25°C, and Sunday will be just a little cooler at 24°C.

All weekend long is expected to feature sunny skies, so we would recommend packing some sunscreen, sunglasses, and that trusty cowboy hat if you’re planning to head out to the Stampede fun.

And, yes, we know that cowboy boots really don’t go too well with shorts, but that’s just a sacrifice you may be willing to make after braving a 33°C day in full cowboy garb…
