Thrillseekers at this year’s Calgary Stampede are in for an extra treat in the form of a new rotating claw 45 feet tall aptly named “Spin Out.”
Of course, firm favourites like the Giant Wheel, Mach 3 and Wave Swinger will be back, as will the numerous games that usually line the Midway.
If you can’t wait to line up your spin, you can already buy a Ride & Play card for a reduced price of $37.85 plus tax in Calgary Safeway and Sobeys stores.
Ride & Play is valid on all rides, Midway games and the WestJet Skyride, redeemable for 60 ride and game coupons or unlimited rides – but you do need to choose a day to use it.

The Stampede runs from July 8 until July 17, although Ride & Play will get you in to a sneak peek on July 7, starting at 4 p.m. one hour before everyone else is offered advance entry.
And if you choose to use your card then, you’ll also get a free Express Pass worth $25, taking you to the front of the line for the rest of the night.
