Dog stunts and puppies coming to Calgary Stampede 2016

Dec 19 2017, 11:29 am

Calgary Stampede will be showcasing a new feature this year – The Dog Bowl – allowing Stampede-goers to enjoy canine stunt shows or get up close and personal with puppies.

The stunt show, presented by The Canine Stars, will feature freestyle frisbee disc, flyball racing, high jumping, dog agility and an exhilarating dock diving act.

“We’re excited to bring this new show to a large, outdoor venue,” says Zach Adams, Stampede entertainment coordinator. “The bond these dogs have with their trainers is unbelievable, and seeing the stunts these dogs can pull off is truly amazing.”

There will be six free dog shows a day and room for more than 2,000 dog lovers at each show in an outdoor amphitheatre in the heart of the Stampede Midway.

Visitors will also be able to meet the dogs – and new pups – during daily meet and greets.

This year’s Stampede runs July 8 to 17.
