Following the declaration of a local state of emergency by the City, it has been announced that all Calgary Public Library locations are now closed until further notice, effective immediately, as an additional measure to curb the spread of COVID-19.

In the announcement, the library has asked that members hold onto materials that have been checked out, or that those materials be dropped into external return bins.

Overdue fees will not be collected, and all due dates for checked out materials has been extended to April 30.

For those isolating at home, the library maintains an extensive digital library that can be accessed by anyone with a library card. If you don’t have one, you can conveniently sign up online.

The customer service line remains open during normal operating hours at 403-260-2600 and they can be reached online as well.

With coronavirus on the rise, BC public health authorities are reminding individuals who attend events and large gatherings to monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. And if you’re not feeling well, they recommend staying home at this time. Also, due to unexpected cancellations, please check the event you plan to attend is still taking place.
