A 14-year member of the Calgary Police Service is facing charges of unwanted communication and criminal harassment.

A Tuesday evening release from CPS states that Constable Jacqueline MacNeil has been charged in relation to alleged incidents between April and November 2018.

It is alleged that MacNeil had excessively contacted a victim, threatening to ruin their reputation both personally and professionally.

The victim them reported the incidents to police, which launched an investigation.

Edmonton Crown Prosecutor was sent the investigative report, according to the release, and determined that charges were warranted.

MacNeil is currently on an unrelated leave, and the matter is now before the courts.
