A dazzling natural light show lit up the Calgary sky this weekend. It was one of the most powerful and colourful Northern Lights displays in the region in years.

Of course, those who were further north and away from urban areas saw a greater intensity of the display but the Northern Lights were also seen as far south as Seattle and Michigan.

The Milky Way rising over Mt. Rundle while a very active geomagnetic storm rages around the sky. The aurora was so strong last night it reached towards the southern parts of the sky and we consistently had coronas forming overhead. I was actually concerned the aurora would wash out the Milky Way too much but ended up with the two together. To be able to get a corona and the galactic center together over the famous Mt.
