Spring has sprung, which means the local housing market is off to the races. Of course, not all communities are feeling it the same. In fact, these five Calgary neighbourhoods are the most expensive in the city.

As per the digital real estate platform Wahi, these communities boast several luxe listings, and it’s driven the median sold price way up. We’re talking over the $1,000,000 mark.

Here’s a look at the five most expensive neighbourhoods in Calgary for April.

#5. Valley Ridge

Coming in fifth place is the neighbourhood of Valley Ridge, with a median sold price of $1,013,250 in April. This is a pretty steep jump, considering the same number was only $740,000 last year. That’s a 37 per cent increase!

#4. Altadore

This one won’t surprise anyone, but Altadore nabs the fourth spot. Homes in this neighbourhood had a median sold price of $1,017,495. But if you want to look at the bright side, that’s actually a little less than last year. While a six per cent drop might not sound like a lot, it did have the highest number of homes sold on this list with a total transaction value of $24,549,040.

#3. North Glenmore Park

North Glenmore Park ranks as the third most expensive neighbourhood in Calgary as of April, with a median sold price of $1,091,200. That’s a 14 per cent jump compared to last year. Homes in this community also sold the fastest compared to the others on this list, an average of just 13 days on the market, according to Wahi.

#2. Wildwood

Scooping the number two spot is Wildwood, with a median sold price of $1,092,000. This community also saw the biggest price jump, going up 42 per cent compared to last year. Makes you wonder what’s in the water over there.

#1. Britannia

Finally, the most expensive neighbourhood in Calgary is Britannia, with a median final sticker price of $1,540,000. This follows a 10 per cent increase compared to last year, but they have the slowest-moving homes on this list. Although considering the cost, it’s not shocking that most listings here sit on the market for about 42 days.
