One Calgary man is in critical condition after a backyard fire went terribly wrong.
According to a release from the Calgary Fire Department, crews responded to reports of an explosion at the 4800 block of Edmonton Trail NE just before 8 pm on Tuesday.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found one man who had been severely burned “as a result of flammable liquid used on the fire.”
The man was transferred to hospital in critical condition after being initially treated by Alberta Health Services, the release states.
No one else was injured as a result of the explosion nor was there any damage to the property, though a Calgary Fire Department Fire Investigator was on scene to determine specifics of the incident.
