
It’s been a chilly week here in Calgary, but our shivering will be done shortly with a huge blast of heat in the forecast for the city soon.
According to the Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecast, the weather in Calgary is well below average for today, Dec. 27; however, the thermometer will start to rise as we roll towards next week.
Calgary is forecast to reach a high of -18°C today, with an overnight low of -25°C, with snow and blowing snow on tap. Daytime highs are on the rebound come tomorrow, with Sunday, Dec. 28, forecast to see a high of -1°C and mainly sunny.
We start the week entering above-zero territory, with Monday, Dec. 29 at 5°C, Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 6°C, and a gorgeous New Year’s Eve is in the cards with a daytime high of 8°C.
When you do the math between tonight’s overnight low and the daytime high on New Year’s Eve, it’s a temperature change of 33 degrees.
You’d better get out and enjoy the warmer temperatures while they last. New Year’s Day in Calgary is looking like temperatures will start to see a dip yet again, with a high of -6°C, and Friday, Jan. 2, is looking even brisker with a high of -11°C.
