The early August long forecast for Calgary is shaping up to be one to remember
The August long weekend is quickly approaching, and if you plan to stick around Calgary for it, you’re going to be in for some absolutely gorgeous weather.
If you’re fortunate enough to be given the optional general holiday, the early forecast for the kickoff of the weekend and the bulk of it is looking stunning.
Looking at the Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecast for Calgary, we have a gorgeous seven-day outlook, and if you took the Friday and/or Thursday ahead of the August long weekend, you really made the right decision.
The forecast shows that Friday, July 31, will be sunny with a gorgeous high of 28°C. The peak of the heat arrives on Saturday, Aug. 1, with a sweltering high of 33°C, while things cool off a tad on Sunday, Aug. 2, with a lovely high of 24°C.
The forecast for Monday, Aug. 3 is not available on the ECCC site for Calgary; however, you can’t be upset if it ends up being a little gross — just look at that run leading up to it.
Environment and Climate Change Canada
According to ECCC, the average high for this time of year in the city is 23°C, while the average low is 10°C. Looks like Calgary will be above and well above those averages for the long weekend.
With a forecast this sizzling, you’ll certainly want to be stopping to grab iced coffees or other cool drinks to keep your temperature down.
If you are hitting the road and hoping to go camping for the long weekend, be sure to pack plenty of sunscreen and, fingers crossed, you’re by a body of water to enjoy.
