Calgary Flames forward Jakob Pelletier was handing out kisses to everybody he could during last night’s 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
Pelletier had an outstanding performance, scoring the game-winning goal while also picking up an assist on a Nazem Kadri tally.
“Thatās the best game Iāve seen him play in the NHL,” Flames head coach Ryan Huska said of Pelletier post-game.
The 23-year-old is known for his infectious personality and made sure to give Kadri a kiss on the helmet immediately following his second-period goal. Not to leave anybody out, he gave his other line mate, Jonathan Huberdeau, a kiss on the bench.

The kisses didn’t stop there, either. Following the game, Pelletier joined Sportsnet’s Ryan Leslie for an interview. After discussing the big win, he made sure to give Leslie a kiss on the head before heading back to the dressing room.

āHe brings so much energy, heās [such] a happy guy out there,ā Huberdeau said. āItās great. Heās been playing well since he came up again. Obviously, he came up on our line, and I thought we had a lot of looks. I thought he was great.ā
These types of interactions are nothing new for Pelletier, who did the exact same with Matt Coronato after a big goal versus the LA Kings less than two weeks ago.

Pelletier has always been known for keeping things light-hearted, which has gained him quite the following in Calgary. Last season, a fun routine between himself and Martin Pospisil grabbed the attention of many Flames fans.

The vibes are at an all-time high in Calgary right now, as last night’s win pulled the Flames three points ahead of both the Vancouver Canucks and St. Louis Blues for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

If they are able to continue picking up wins down the stretch, fans should expect to continue seeing plenty of fun antics from Pelletier.
