Calgary Flames' future arena looks absolutely incredible in new video

It’s an exciting time to be a fan of the Calgary Flames.

No, the Flames aren’t competing in the playoffs, which may have outsiders confused about why there is plenty of optimism from the fan base surrounding the team.

A big part of the excitement stems from the great prospects the Flames have been able to acquire under GM Craig Conroy. They will be adding even more this June, as they hold eight picks in the first three rounds, including the sixth-overall selection.

That said, it isn’t just the state of the team that has many in the city abuzz.

The Flames’ new arena, Scotia Place, is something fans in Calgary seem to be discussing each and every day. Though the new building isn’t set to open until the 2027-28 season, so much progress has been made that fans can already envision what it will look like upon its completion.

A recent video put together by a Calgary-based video production company, LK Visuals,Ā  shows in elaborate detail just how much work has already been done on Scotia Place.

Not only is a good portion of the roof being put in place, but the video also gives a great idea as to what the upper bowl will look like once the building is ready to rock. The video also gives a great look into what will be an open-concept food hall, which will have both indoor and patio seating.

“Hats off to whoever is managing that site, immaculate,” one user wrote on X.

This was a much-needed upgrade for the Flames, as their current home, the Saddledome, has simply run its course. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has been on record for years saying Calgary needed a new arena, and seemed quite pleased with Scotia Place when visiting the job site in early March.

“I don’t think there will be a nicer building anywhere,ā€ Bettman stated in a press conference.

Many Calgarians agree with that sentiment and are already champing at the bit for the 2027-28 season to come so that they can experience it firsthand.
