Weather this long weekend features a classic Calgary winter

It looks like Calgary will be seeing at least a bit more snow before spring comes around, as this Family Day weekend will feature a few days of the cold, white flakes.

This shouldn’t come as the biggest surprise; Calgary has had steady snowfall over the past few weeks, and the city’s streets have seen their share of coverage.

Hopefully this weekend’s flurries won’t cause an entirely new snow route parking ban, but we would keep our shovels at the ready, regardless.

The first chance of flurries will come on Friday, with 30% both day and night, and a low of -15°C. Saturday follows up with a full-blown snowfall throughout the day and into Sunday, which will eventually dial back to a 40% chance by night-time.

Family Day Monday will actually see some sun, though don’t expect any warmth to come along with it; daytime highs will only reach -13°C on Monday, dropping as low as -15° headed into Tuesday morning.

Enjoy the long weekend! Even if the weather is a little crummy.
