Calgary was sent into a frenzy after reports that a bench that was plastered with “F*ck off Trump” was spotted on 17th Avenue.

A photo of the bench was posted to Reddit on Thursday, which included the Government of Canada logo at the bottom right-hand corner.

The post garnered plenty of reaction, amassing hundreds of comments and thousands of upvotes. With such a loud message, many people wondered if the ad actually did show up or was a masterful work of photoshop.

Daily Hive reached out to the City of Calgary regarding the bench, and was informed that it was not owned by the city but by a local advertising agency, and the ad was indeed real.

“The ad was put up by a marketing company called Beyond Ordinary Reach Exhibits, and was up for about three hours and then was taken down,” the city added.

Don’t go rushing to see it for yourself —with all the commentary about the bench, Daily Hive went to check out the bench shown in the Reddit post shortly after it went up, and discovered no such image, with an advertisement for a local business in its place.
