Augmented Reality Experience at The CORE 2019
What: An augmented reality exhibit is open at Calgary’s The CORE Shopping Centre, in partnership with UK-based technology provider INDE. Attendees will stand on a platform in front of a gigantic screen, which will show them standing alongside everything from whales to giraffes to dinosaurs. Three different experiences will be available to try out, — Air, Land, and Sea; Arctic Explorer; and Back to the Jurassic — with each providing a different setting along with different animals to encounter.

Chefs Cycle for No Kid Hungry Fundraiser
What: Cycling enthusiasts and culinary leaders in Calgary – John Jackson, Connie DeSousa, Justin Leboe, Matt Batey, Chad Rittenhouse, Baruch Laskin & Eva Sargeant-Laskin – have teamed up to raise funds to help end childhood hunger for one night only at Alforno Bakery & Cafe on April 30. Attend and support “The Canadians” team as 100% of the proceeds will go towards Chefs Cycle for No Kid Hungry.

25th Anniversary Celebration of Calgary Distinguished Writers Program
What: Join the Calgary Distinguished Writers Program to celebrate 25 years of the CDWP. Hosted by 2002–03 Canadian Writer-in-Residence Suzette Mayr (associate professor, English), this event will feature readings by writers from Calgary, Alberta, and beyond who have consulted with our writers-in-residence over the years. There will also be refreshments and live music by The Sidewinders, along with book giveaways for copies of books by our featured authors.
