What: Jasper in January has kicked off its 31st year as of last Friday, with three weekends full of art, music, dance, food, and winter activities taking place in the mountain paradise.

All Sport One City Initiative 2020

What: All Sport One City is a week-long initiative that’s taking place all over Calgary, where fitness and sports classes will be made free for anyone willing to give them a go. From the basics of broomball to the gravity-defying workings of parkour, Calgarians will finally be able to try their hands at all the things they’d always been curious about — for free!

When: Saturday, January 18 to Sunday, January 26, 2020

BIG Winter Classic 2020

What: This winter festival will see dozens of bands perform throughout Calgary at venues like Broken City, Last Best Brewery, Inner City Brewing and the “Big Empty Space” located on 10th Avenue between Greta Bar and The Backlot.

The Bash

Ice Magic Banff 2020

What: Running 12 days from January 15 to 26, Ice Magic hosts teams in a competition to create the most stunningly shiny work of frozen art.

Tickets are required to visit the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise lakeside Competition Carving Site during peak periods. Ice Magic is free to attend from Monday to Friday, and on weekends before 10 am or after 5:30 pm.
