Come see what crawled up in Southcentre Mall
What: In collaboration with Beakerhead, there is now a 16-ft-tall dung beetle sculpture in the middle of the Inner Circle. The sculpture was created by Alberta native Max Streicher and encourages visitors to interact with the piece as art, science, and engineering fuse together. This is an exciting sneak peek of what Beakerhead has in store for this year.

Soak up the last rays of summer on a patio
What: Take a break from the heat and have an ice-cold bevy on one of Calgary’s best patios. From rooftops to hidden gardens, there are plenty of spots to choose from that will have the vibe and ambience you’re looking for. Check out some of Calgary’s best rooftop patios here.
Enjoy a drink at the King Eddy Hotel
What: The highly-anticipated King Eddy is finally (and permanently) re-opened. The revitalized King Edward Hotel was built way back in 1905, so to say this spot is legendary would be an understatement. Patrons can expect a regular lineup of talented musicians at this spot, along with a menu of killer grub and drinks. Don’t forget about their incredible rooftop.

Jill Paddock Art Exhibition
What: You might recognize her colourful works from the walls of many local Calgary businesses. On Friday, August 24 Jill Paddock kicked off her very first solo art show. Throughout the month you’ll be able to purchase unframed art, notebooks, t-shirts, and even a few minimal nude art pieces that she’s so well known for. Come down and celebrate her all month long as she kicks off this incredible milestone in her artistic career.

Grab a fall flavoured macaron at Ollia’s
What: We don’t know about you, but we’ll get more excited over Fall macaron flavours than a PSL any day. Chai Latte, Mocha, Pumpkin Spice, and Sweet Potato Marshmallow – good-bye summer bod! A little birdie also told us you can now order macarons via Door Dash, so you don’t even have to leave your house to get them.
