Heritage Day Festival 2019
What: Calgary Folk Arts Council presents the 42nd annual Heritage Day Festival at Olympic Plaza. Enjoy multicultural performances, ethnic foods, and unique handicrafts, then explore the artisan booths, get face painted, and enjoy the live performances.

Tour de Bowness Street Festival
What: Wrap up the Tour de Bowness with the Street Festival on August 5. As well as the series of bicycle race happening nearby, there will be live music, a kids zone, and over 80 independent artisan vendors. The festival will also have food trucks and street performers.

Calgary Fringe Festival

Canmore Folk Music Festival
What: Alberta’s longest-running folk music festival is back. Taking place over three days of the Heritage Day long weekend in August, the festival features over individual acts or performers, family-friendly site, a free downtown concert on festival Friday evening, a kids’ area jammed with crafts, puppets, music, storytelling and a climbing wall.

Marcus Ryan – Walk This Qué
What: Award-winning storyteller Marcus Ryan has toured the world and performed in 43 countries. His show Walk This Qué tells the story of how in 2017 he walked from France to Spain to perform a stand-up show.

Tour de Bowness

What: Get a taste of what the Tour de France is like at the 18th Annual Tour de Bowness. For three days you will have the opportunity to watch cyclists from various viewpoints throughout the city as they compete for a variety of titles and prizes. This event started in 2001 and is now the largest amateur bike race in the province. The Tour de Bowness will be adding hand cycling to the event in 2019, and stick around on Monday to enjoy the Tour de Bowness Street Festival put on by the Bowness BRZ.

Alacrity Improv in Alberta 114

Big Big Tent – Family Bike Day

What: Sticking around town for the long weekend? Big big or small small, round up the family to enjoy a day of friendly competition, bonding and putting the pedal to the metal at the tent. Everyone is welcome and Strider Bikes will be there with their STRIDER Adventure Zone, designed especially for young cyclists aged 18 months to five years.
