MADE WITH LOVE – 2019 Calgary Regional Finals

What: MADE WITH LOVE is the annual event that allows guests to discover what the city’s craft cocktail scene has to offer. Regional finalists will present exclusive cocktail recipes to impress a panel of renowned judges and our guests. Judges and attendees will face the challenging (and delicious!) task of tasting and evaluating their creations based on originality, creativity and flavour balance.

Queer Community Dance Classes

What: Raymond Johnson-Brown will be teaching Queer Friendly x All Ages x Free Queer Community Dance Classes every Monday at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks until June 24. This class will be an open level all styles choreography class. The choreography based style of dance will blend together elements of Hip Hop, Vogue, Waacking, Burlesque and Jazz.

Calgary’s Official Poetry Slam

What: Calgary’s Official Poetry Slam and Open Mic. Slam poetry is a type of competition where people read their poems without props, costumes, or music. The sign-up sheet for both the open mic and the slam will be released at 7:00 pm, and the show will start at 7:30 pm.

Wordfest Presents Naomi Lewis

Each screening will include a post-screening discussion, featuring the director of the film itself and/or someone from the community at large known for their expertise or insightful views on the film subject.

Shakespeare by the Bow – A Midsummer Night’s Dream

What: This summer, come together with the Calgary community to celebrate and support Alberta’s emerging artists in a gorgeous natural setting. One of Shakespeare’s most popular works, A Midsummer Night’s Dream follows four young lovers and a group of six amateur actors through the forest as they are influenced and manipulated by a band of forest-dwelling fairies. Join theatre: Calgary in Prince’s Island Park for this thrilling chase of love, identity and confusion.
