If you’ve had enough of watching virtual concerts from your computer screen, you’re in luck – Alberta’s newest and largest drive-in event venue is coming to the city this spring, so get ready to enjoy live music again.

In-person shows are coming back to the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino this year with a creative new twist.

The Event Group, Grey Eagle Resort and Casino, and SuperVision Ltd have teamed up to bring us the Grey Eagle Drive-In.

The drive-in is scheduled to open on May 1, and event attendees have the option of watching shows in their vehicles or from the comfort of the Grey Eagle’s west-facing hotel rooms.

The 206-car capacity space will be hosted in the Grey Eagle Resort’s southwest parking lot, located minutes from downtown Calgary on the Tssut’ina Nation.

The site features a 32-foot covered stage with three large LED screens that will project the action for all to see. Audio comes through via surround sound and is also broadcast over car radios by FM transmitter.

“We are super excited to carry on the reputation rolling into this spring with our new ‘Grey Eagle Drive In’ showcasing an incredible outdoor live event experience,” says Kevin Yates, General Manager of the Hotel & Event Centre at Grey Eagle Resort and Casino.

“Guests have an opportunity to eat, play, stay and enjoy a variety of entertainment, in support of charities on the beautiful Tsuut’ina Nation. We will be following all health and safety guidelines.”

The drive-in will be available to book for more than just concerts – anyone can schedule graduations, dance recitals, comedy nights, award ceremonies, movie screenings, and more at the Grey Eagle.

The Grey Eagle Drive-In suggests several ways for event coordinators to recover their booking investment, such as through ticket sales, live streaming, or an onsite 50/50 draw.

The COVID-friendly venue is available now to book for special events from May 1 to July 31, and the live concert line-up will be revealed soon, so stay tuned.

Catch views of the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop to your show while celebrating the return of in-person concerts and events.
