
If you’re looking to start a career and are on the hunt for a job, eight Calgary companies just made the list of Canada’s top employers for young people.
Back for its 24th year, the ranking comes from The Globe and Mail. Companies are selected by the team behind Canada’s Top 100 Employers. Key topics the list covers are tuition assistance, co-op and work-study placements, structured mentoring, and bonuses for completing certifications.
YYC got some big recognition on the list with eight Calgary-based companies, including ATCO Ltd., Dentons Canada LLP, and the City of Calgary, making the cut.
Amirze Canada Inc. made the list thanks to its early career leadership program that offers mini projects, business case challenges, self-assessments, virtual coaching, and presentations to senior leaders.

ATCO Ltd., also found itself on the list, noting its financial foundations seminar that it offers to summer students.
The City of Calgary made the cut this year, mentioning its engineer-in-training program, which provides new graduates with up to 72 months of training and technical coaching.
Law firm Dentons Canada LLP secured its spot on the list thanks to its new student playbook, which helps students identify competencies needed to help with career progression.
Two other companies on the list include Gibsons Energy Inc. and Keyera Corp. Gibsons Energy was touted for its engineer-in-training program, which includes technical training, mentorship, a year placement in the field, and placements within the organization. Keyera Corp. was noted for its range of professional development opportunities.
UFA Co-operative Limited made the list thanks to its finance new grad rotation program, which offers recent graduates opportunities to gain experience across different financial roles.
Last, but not least, VCA Canada Ltd. made the cut for its student loan repayment program, which matches a portion of student loan repayments and deposits them straight into an RRSP.
