Spotted Sunday on Calgary’s busiest highway, a man was riding a scooter on a snow and ice covered Deerfoot Trail.

The video was uploaded by Kimmy Star and caught the attention of a local Calgary Radio station who started a GoFundMe page for the brave Calgarian.

Labeled ‘Help YYC Scooter Guy Get a new Ride‘ Calgary’s 98.5 VIRGIN Radio started the GoFundMe page that raised $6.9K in just two days and caught the attention of Automaxx Automotive, a used car dealership in town.

“We were so drawn to this man and his story that we’ve decided to help him out…by donating him a vehicle!” Automaxx Automotive posted on their Facebook Page.

The automotive company was overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from Calgarians and posted this reponse on their Facebook Page.

WOW! We really just want to say THANK YOU to everyone reaching out to us this morning! We are absolutely blown away by all of your comments/support! <3

What’s important to remember here is that there are so many individuals within our community who are in need and could use some help this holiday season. If you’re able to give back to the community in any way, do so! You won’t regret it.

Thanks again YYC!
