Calgary man braves harsh winter weather on a scooter (VIDEO)

Calgary is known for it’s snowy winter weather and resilient habitants, but this man takes the icy cold cake.

Spotted Sunday on Calgary’s busiest highway, a man was riding a scooter on a snow and ice covered Deerfoot Trail.

The video was uploaded by Kimmy Star on Facebook and has since gone viral catching the attention of a local Calgary Radio station who started a GoFundMe page for the brave Calgarian. 

Labeled ‘Help YYC Scooter Guy Get a new Ride‘ Calgary’s 98.5 VIRGIN Radio started the GoFundMe page that has already raised more than $2.7 K in the first hour, with a fundraising goal of $15k.

VIRGIN reports that the man lives in NE Calgary and commutes each day on his scooter because he can’t afford a car. Like many Calgarians he is having a hard time financially right now to support his parents and his nieces.
