Two people required medical attention after a series of assaults in downtown Calgary on Tuesday morning.

A man arrived at the Sheldon Chumir Centre in serious medical distress shortly before 10 am, with a woman showing similar injuries following shortly after.

The Calgary Police Service believe that the two assaults were from the same incident, and believe that the victims and attackers are known to one another.

The woman was found to be in a stable condition this morning, with the male victim recovering enough to be considered stable by this afternoon.

Police believe that the assault occurred in a detached garage on 14th Avenue SW, and are working to put together a description of the suspect, as no one is yet in custody.

Police are asking anyone with information on this incident to contact them at their non-emergency number by calling 403-266-1234, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477, or online through their website.
