It’s not often you hear someone apologize after getting beat up, but that’s exactly what we have today from a man who bit off far more than he could chew.
If you’ve been on the internet in any fashion over the past few days, you have likely seen the viral video of former NHL enforcer Nick Tarnasky fighting another man, Trevor Ogilvie, at the Alberta Springs Golf Resort.
While it’s unclear how much dialogue Tarnasky’s group was having with the two golfers in front of them throughout the round, the video makes it clear they were upset with the slow pace of play. Judging from the video, it appeared as though both Ogilvie and his golfing partner were very intoxicated.
After trading words back and forth, Ogilvie made a charge for Tarnasky, and it went about as poorly as it could have. He was first tossed into a pond, before being fed several shots and tossed once again afterward.

While seemingly everybody who watched the video took Tarnasky’s side, they may be able to gain some respect from the other man, who, after a few days of silence, released a well thought out apology on social media.
“Yup, that’s me guys. The guy that got dropped like a bucket of balls in a pond,” Ogilvie says. “Not my finest moment, I know. It looks real bad. Played 36 holes of golf, we drank way too much, and my mouth ran faster than my brain.
“All jokes side, I’d like to apologize to all the folks on the course, anyone caught up in it, and anyone who had to deal with me that day. I lost my cool, and I’ve learned from it. Just one of those days where you should’ve kept the cart on the path, you know. Stay hydrated, keep your stick on the ice, maybe stick to 18.”

While it certainly wasn’t the finest of moments from Ogilvie, he deserves props for fully owning the situation and taking no issue with the fight itself.
