A GoFundMe has been set up to support an Alberta teenager and her family following an assault that occurred in the city on May 11, 2026.
According to the fundraiser posted on GoFundMe, the teenager, Rylin, was assaulted near the Collicutt Centre in Red Deer at approximately 2:30 p.m on Monday.
“This senseless attack has left Rylin with physical injuries, emotional trauma, and significant financial burdens for her mom, who will have to take time off work to deal with appointments and take care of her daughter,” the fundraiser reads.
Funds raised through the campaign are intended to support medical care, trauma counselling, lost income, legal fees, and other related costs during recovery.
As of writing, the GoFundMe campaign has raised $15,971 toward its $18,000 goal.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

In a news release, the RCMP said officers responded to multiple 911 calls on May 11 reporting an assault in a field in the Lancaster Meadows area of Red Deer.
As of May 13, 2026, the RCMP said two 14-year-old females, both from Red Deer, have been identified and charged in connection with the incident. One of them faces charges of assault causing bodily harm and assault by choking, while the second is charged with assault causing bodily harm.
Both have been released with conditions and are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer in June.
The GoFundMe page says any donations or shares would help the family focus on recovery.
“No one should ever have to endure such a traumatic experience. Right now, Rylin and her family’s focus needs to be on healing—both physically and emotionally—without the added stress of overwhelming expenses.”
