Alberta saw 47 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours

There has now been a total of 8,436 cases of COVID-19 in Alberta since the pandemic began in March, with 47 of those being detected over the past 24 hours.

According to a recent report from the Province of Alberta, Tuesday, July 7, saw that case count increase alongside two additional deaths related to the virus.

Nearly half a million coronavirus tests have been completed in Alberta to date, totalling 493,935 as of today.

However, of Alberta’s hundreds of thousands of tests, and thousands of total cases, only 620 cases remain active — the majority having been found in Calgary (230) and Edmonton (243).

A total of 7,659 Albertans have recovered from coronavirus so far, while 54 are in hospital and six are in an intensive care unit.
