There has now been a total of 8,482 cases of COVID-19 in Alberta since the pandemic began in March, with 46 of those being detected over the past 24 hours.
According to a recent report from the Province of Alberta, Wednesday, July 8, saw that case count increase alongside one additional death related to the virus.

Over half a million coronavirus tests have been completed in Alberta, totalling 500,203 as of Wednesday.
However, of Alberta’s hundreds of thousands of tests, and thousands of total cases, only 608 cases remain active — the majority having been found in Calgary (230) and Edmonton (232).
A total of 7,716 Albertans have recovered from coronavirus so far, while 54 are in hospital and six are in an intensive care unit.
