It’s finally here! Here’s what’s going on in the city today to start off your weekend.

Picnic in Vic Park

  • What: Haultain Park is gearing up to host a convoy of Calgary’s most beloved food trucks, when Picnic in Vic Park returns to the city for another year. Running over three consecutive days there will be 15 plus food trucks, live music from BassBus, giveaways, cold beer from Village Brewery, and a stack of things to see and do.
  • When: Friday, June 17 11 am to 7 pm
  • Where: Haultain Park – 225 13th Avenue SW
  • Cost: $5 entry (free for kids under 14)

Okotoks Dawgs Games

  • What: See the Western Major Baseball League Okotoks Dawgs take on the Lethbridge Bulls.. The Dawgs are playing a total of 15 games in June.
  • Where: Seaman Stadium –  2111 N Railway Street, Okotoks

Jazz YYC Summer Festival

  • What: The MainStage at the Ironwood Stage and Grill hosts  pianist/composer/trombonist Hugh Fraser’s VEJI big band. (Vancouver Ensemble for Jazz Improvisation).

Christophe Davidson at Yuk Yuks

  • What: Having performed three times at Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival, funny man Christophe Davidson is performing at Yuk Yuks Calgary.

Sherlock Holmes: Case of the Jersey Lily

  • What: SherlockHolmes helps legendary Victorian actress Lillie Langtry get her letters back after she is threatened with blackmail over private correspondence with the Prince of Wales.
